To Whom It May Concern:

On Saturday, April 13, 2019, the Linguistics Department and the American Sign Language (ASL) Club of the University of Southern Maine will host its Twelfth Annual Maine Deaf Film Festival. Every year, the Film Festival showcases Deaf Culture through our featured selections by Deaf filmmakers, actors, and video artists throughout the country. The 17th annual festival is promising to be another great year, with over eight hours of films and videos covering a vast range of perspectives and topics. The Maine Deaf Film Festival at USM has become an anticipated tradition in the region and a unique opportunity to raise awareness of the Deaf Community.

This letter is an invitation to join our sponsors in showing support for the Maine Deaf Community and the students at USM. With your help, we hope to show the full range of businesses, organizations, and individuals friendly to Deaf people in Maine. Our event sponsors are a vital part of our mission, whose contributions will be prominently highlighted throughout the event. Each year, we host an opening reception for the Festival that is highly attended. We are asking area businesses to support the Festival with a contribution of refreshments and beverages for this reception.

On behalf of the USM ASL Club and the Maine Deaf Film Festival Committee, we thank you for your consideration and are pleased to invite you to support the Twelfth Annual Film Festival. Please return the enclosed response form to us, which will provide us with the information we need to receive donations. We look forward to your participation in this exciting event.
